American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position on night shift requiring Epic experience and advanced cardiac device competency.

Details

• Position is in a 14-bed CTICU within a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
• Average census is 11 patients per day with an RN-patient ratio of 1:2
• Patient population includes post-cardiac surgery patients with ECMO, OHT, LVAD/RVAD, and Impella devices
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, Philips and Edwards monitors, and advanced cardiac support equipment
• Work schedule is 12-hour night shifts (7pm), rotating every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
• No on-call or call back required
• Required to float to adult critical care units as needed
• Expected to work 75% of holidays

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a CTICU at the same level
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Demonstrated experience caring for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients with ECMO, Impella, IABP, RVAD, LVAD devices
• Epic charting experience is required
• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Required to present on patients once per shift at scheduled times
• Support team includes CNA, free-floating charge nurse, receptionist (weekdays), 24/7 RT, 24/7 IV/VAT team, phlebotomy PRN, resource nurse (as available), 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation plus 3 days departmental training
