American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Skilled Nursing Facility assignment working days with geriatric and post-acute med/surg patients.

Details

• Position is based in a skilled nursing facility with 110 total beds
• Primary patient populations are geriatrics and post-acute med/surg, including transitional care unit patients
• Patient ratios include 1:20 on day shift and 1:38 on nights for LTC, 1:12 on days and 1:15 on nights for TCU
• Responsibilities may include floating between the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and Long-Term Care (LTC)
• Shift is 12-hour days, with rotations as needed to balance the schedule
• No call responsibilities are required
• EMR systems used are Meditech and Caretracker
• Uses IV pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• Support includes CNAs (1:10 day, 1:18 night), reception/HUC coverage during weekdays, phlebotomy and IV/VAT teams from the hospital
• May be scheduled for holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

• Active MT or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of SNF or relevant experience required
• Must be proficient in medication administration, wound care, IV skills, catheter care, and suctioning
• Must be comfortable taking on a charge RN role if needed
• Experience with Meditech and Caretracker EMR systems preferred
• Comfort working with a geriatric and post-acute med/surg patient population

• Team-oriented unit culture with strong support from CNAs, Resident Care Managers, and hospital-based teams
• Orientation includes 1 or possibly 2 shifts
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• First-time travelers may be considered with prior LTC or SNF experience
• Parking is available on site
