Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IR PACU position requiring ICU and pediatric experience, with rotating start times and call responsibilities.

Details

• Work in the IR PACU of a hospital setting
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week with variable start times (0600, 0700, or 0800)
• Rotating start times and 3-4 late stays required every 6 weeks
• Patient population includes both adults and pediatric patients
• Call required with a 1-hour response time; weekday and weekend shifts divided per 6-week schedule
• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• PACU to close at 8PM; any remaining patients are transferred to main PACU and followed by IR PACU team

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of PACU specialty experience and at least 1 year of ICU experience
• Experience providing phase 1 recovery care in IR PACU
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (PALS must be obtained prior to start if not in hand)
• No licensure hits accepted
• Candidates must provide two supervisory references from the last three years
• Local candidates living within 100 miles will not be considered
• Former permanent staff must be gone for 6 months before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Responsible for recovering IR PACU patients, including transferring and following patients to main PACU when required
• Team structure involves collaborating with the main PACU for patient recovery after regular hours
• Annual and orientation modules required, averaging 6.5 hours each
• All time off must be disclosed at time of consideration; requests after that will not be approved
• Holiday and late stay coverage is expected per schedule needs
• Return staff eligibility is reviewed and previous employment at the facility must be disclosed
