American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH.

Details

• Work in a hospital Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Primary diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues
• Patient ratio is 1:4-5 with a total of 16 rooms on the unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Floating within facility and according to scope of practice as needed
• No call requirement
• Required use of Epic (must have experience), Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must provide two supervisory references from current or recent managers (charge nurse references not accepted)
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Maximum of 7 days RTO may be requested; no RTO permitted during the first week
• Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year if previously staff or PRN

Additional Information

• Expected to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Travelers must be available to work scheduled major holidays based on assignment dates and facility policy
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Compliance must be completed prior to the start date to avoid assignment delay
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Unit uses a pre-screening process to determine clinical fit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Orientation modules are required and completed during non-billable hours
• Pairs of travelers are not assigned to the same shift in the same unit
