Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MS/Tele RN with a current NY license and Epic charting experience for a night shift position.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Patient population includes acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis
• Day/evening nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 (may stretch to 6-7:1); night ratios are 6-7:1 (may stretch to 8-10:1 if needed)
• PCTs perform vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and daily living activities
• Use and management of BIPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, ventilators, trachs, and chest tubes
• Epic is the charting system and experience is required
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to similar units within scope is required
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year MS/Tele RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Proficient in peripheral and central line care
• Not accepting local candidates living within a 75-mile radius

Additional Information

• Responsible for rapid response team utilization, non-invasive airway management, and following isolation precautions
• Work collaboratively with in-house phlebotomy and PCT teams
• Scrubs must be navy, white, or a combination of both
• No more than one week of time off (RTO) allowed per contract
• Modules and orientation are completed pre-start, with up to 5 hours billable for modules
• Return staff must have been gone at least one year

• Holiday coverage as assigned may be required
