American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit position requiring DC licensure, cardiac telemetry experience, and advanced certifications.

Details

• Work in a 48-bed cardiac focused stepdown/progressive care unit within a hospital setting
• Unit includes 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (travelers are not required to take cardiac surgery patients)
• Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, pulmonary, and post-vascular surgery patients
• Frequent IV drips administered include Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex
• Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure (CHF), NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery cases
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Uses Cerner EMR—experience required
• No floating to ICU or ED noted

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA only)
• CPI certification mandated by position
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• At least two years of US hospital RN experience in cardiac telemetry required
• At least two years of cardiac telemetry experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• BSN highly desired
• Must live at least 25 miles from facility
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide specialized care to patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary needs in a stepdown environment
• Must be prepared to manage IV medication infusions frequently used with cardiac stepdown patients
• At least two professional references, with one from the most recent supervisor, preferred for job consideration
• COVID and flu vaccinations may be required according to facility protocols
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Scrub color requirements not specified
