American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night position requiring a NC or compact license, with expertise in complex cardiac interventions and Epic charting.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) caring for critically ill adult cardiac and post-surgical patients
• Night shift position with a 3x12s schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required with six full weekends in a 13-week contract
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Float required to all campuses within the health system as necessary
• Patient population includes cases such as MI, CHF, cardiac surgeries, post cardiac catheterization, LVAD, Impella, IABP, ECMO, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, and multi-system organ failure
• Specialized procedures and equipment include post-cardiac surgery care (direct/from OR), pre/post cardiac catheterization interventions, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, sheath removal, TAVI/TAVR, CVVHA/CRRT, arterial and central line management, PICC lines, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP support, ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula, and Arctic Sun
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure required
• CVVHA/CRRT experience required
• Prior experience with post-cardiac surgery, ECMO, IABP, advanced cardiac interventions, and related devices preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam during compliance with up to two attempts
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for complex cardiac, vascular, and post-surgical ICU patients including direct support for invasive procedures
• Responsible for titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and advanced respiratory support
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, blood product administration, and advanced monitoring
• RTO must be provided at the time of application; time off after submission is not accepted

• All RNs are required to complete unit-based onboarding modules during orientation
• Background check must be clear of any open cases for employment eligibility
