Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a long-term care assignment in a skilled nursing facility, requiring current BLS and at least one year of elderly care experience.

Details

• Work in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting attached to a hospital
• Unit has 70 beds, with a majority being private rooms
• Primary patient population includes elderly, dementia, frail, and rehabilitation patients
• Typical RN to patient ratio is 1:20
• Uses ECS electronic medical records system
• Perform IVs, catheterizations, ostomy care, and medication administration
• Block scheduling, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating to other units is required
• No on-call duties

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in elderly or long-term care nursing
• Two professional references are required, including one from a recent supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor
• Experience with ECS charting system preferred

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge duties, and clinical care for elderly patients
• Candidate must be willing to float to other units as needed
• Must be available to work at least half the holidays during the assignment
• Team includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs, therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, and housekeeping staff
• Clean, professional scrubs in any solid color are required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidate must not have worked for the facility as permanent staff within the past 6 months
• Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a reduced pay rate
