American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR position requiring a NE or compact RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and substantial CVOR experience.

Details

• Work in an acute care Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
• Assignment includes primarily cardiovascular surgeries and float to general, ortho, urology, and ENT OR cases as needed
• Unit has 11 operating suites with an average of 18 cases per day
• Common procedures include CABG, vascular, and lung surgeries
• Circ role only; scrubbing not required
• Shift is 8 or 10 hours, starting at 0700, Monday through Friday, with consistent scheduling week to week
• Call required for 10–15 total days per month, a mix of weeknights and weekends, with a 15-minute response time
• Holiday and weekend call coverage required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular OR RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Proven ability handling open heart procedures and working in a general OR
• Driver’s license required to validate residential address for radius requirements
• Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from facility
• Candidates may not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the last year

Additional Information

• Part of a dedicated CVOR team embedded within a general OR team with RN manager or charge present daily
• Full OR tech support provided in the unit
• RNs must pass a skills-based open-book exam during orientation with a required score of 90% to continue employment
• Orientation and ongoing support provided during the first week
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care departments
• Scrubs are provided for all shifts
• Position does not require floating outside department; when not doing CV cases, will work general OR cases
• Return-to-work and time-off requests must comply with unit guidelines
