American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Outpatient Infusion assignment, requiring a SD or compact RN license and strong IV skills.

Details

• Position is in an Outpatient Infusion unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for ambulatory patients requiring infusions for RA, GI, immunotherapy, MS, blood transfusions, hydration, iron, antibiotics, and injections
• Unit has 20 infusion rooms and 1-2 designated COVID spots
• Typical patient ratio is 1 RN to 7 patients
• 10-hour day shifts from 0630 to 1700 with no on-call or weekend rotations
• Uses Epic for charting, along with Omnicell, Alaris IV Pumps, and CADD portable pumps
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active SD or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 1.5 years of professional nursing experience required; first-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
• Completion of a board-approved nursing education program required
• Excellent IV skills and experience with all VADs, both peripheral and central
• Experience and knowledge of immunotherapy medications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
• Previous permanent staff at Monument Health must wait one year before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include administering a variety of infusions to ambulatory outpatients, managing IVs, and performing phlebotomy for difficult sticks
• RN is responsible for IV and VAT functions; CRNA support is available for ultrasound-guided IVs
• Daily charge nurse support is provided
• Team includes 3 tech CNAs supporting the entire unit
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Holiday coverage is required if scheduled, with 2 out of 4 holidays expected

• Orientation consists of 2-3 days based on experience and comfort level
