American Traveler seeks an experienced Pediatric OR RN with scrub and circulate skills and at least 2 years of RN experience for a position requiring call coverage.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Operating Room unit serving pediatric patients from newborn to 17 years
• Day shift schedule of 5x8 hour shifts (6:45–15:15) with rotating weekday and weekend on-call requirements
• No float required outside the assigned unit
• Unit is part of a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care
• Uses Cerner EMR, Accudose, and SBAR for charting
• Bright blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required to start; pending license may be considered
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required, with previous pediatric and operating room experience
• BLS certification required
• Circulating and scrub skills in both general and pediatric OR required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; those within 75–100 miles considered case-by-case
• Flu vaccine required during the season (Oct 1–Mar 31) unless medically exempt
• IV start skills preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Must provide at least 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years

Additional Information

• Role involves both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities in a pediatric surgical setting
• On-call schedule is self-managed, including some weeknights and weekends
• Robotic OR experience and women's specialty background are highly valued
• Must not have been a permanent employee of the facility or Vandalia Health System within the last 2 years
• No block scheduling available
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities are not eligible
• Free parking provided for travelers
• Online modules required prior to start, with documented completion
• Orientation occurs every other Thursday
• No restrictions on requested time off
