Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU night shift role requiring a current FL or compact RN license, Epic experience, and prior ICU expertise.

Details

• Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) with potential to float to other units or hospital locations
• Patient ratio is 1:2 in the SICU
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend or six weekend shifts per six-week period required, based on unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR usage with prior experience required
• Block scheduling may be available depending on unit needs
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum one year of Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director within the last year
• Flu vaccine required from 10/31–3/31, with limited exemptions
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Former staff, employees, or contracted travelers must have a one-year gap since last internal contract

Additional Information

• Must be available for lab work within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
• Annual and initial training modules are completed via facility learning management system during orientation
• Travel pairs may be considered if approved by unit leadership but same schedules are not guaranteed
• Free parking with a decal provided at orientation
• Scrubs may be any solid color (tops and bottoms must match), no logos or prints
• Holiday and float requirements apply based on unit and hospital needs
• Kronos used for timekeeping, badge swipe required for clocking in/out
