American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit specializing in renal and urological patient care, requiring Epic experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with telemetry capabilities
• Patient population focuses on renal and urological diagnoses, including post-prostate and bladder/kidney surgery patients
• Unit is skilled in managing 3-way catheter irrigations, bladder scans, and incontinence procedures
• Patient ratios are typically 1:6 and patients range from young adults to geriatrics
• May admit other Med/Surg and telemetry overflow patients
• Shifts are 3x12 hour nights, 19:00 to 07:00
• Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties in TX
• Former permanent staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

• Daily responsibilities include managing post-surgical renal and urological patients and specialized procedures such as catheter irrigations and bladder scans
• Must be comfortable serving a patient caseload spanning young adult to geriatric populations
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and recorded via transcripts
• No travel pairs or groups are accepted for this position
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are not accepted
