Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with utilization review expertise and a current MT or compact RN license.

Details

• Position based in an acute care hospital setting
• Care management responsibilities with utilization review focus
• Patient population includes adult medical-surgical cases
• Day shift schedule, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with weekend rotations
• Potential for on-call work and overtime as needed

Requirements

• Active MT or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Utilization review experience is mandatory
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, walking, and fine motor tasks
• Strong skills with EMR, MS Office, and computer applications
• Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility for consideration

• Responsible for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and ongoing patient evaluation
• Partner with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, patients, and support networks to achieve care goals
• Involvement in discharge planning and resolving barriers to effective care
• Expected to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively
• Work environment requires adaptability to a busy hospital setting with potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease
