American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a nursery position requiring Level 1 and 2 nursery experience, charge nurse capability, and night shift flexibility.

Details

• Work in the nursery of an acute care hospital with a Level III trauma designation
• Care for neonates in Level 1 and Level 2 nursery settings, including cases requiring phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal management, and bubble CPAP
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Schedule consists of 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call requirements at present, but may change based on unit needs
• Float within the women's area of the facility as needed
• Uses Epic for charting
• Royal blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursery experience in Level 1 and 2 settings required
• Experience as a charge nurse required
• Certifications: BLS and NRP required; STABLE certification highly preferred
• Must be comfortable with all stages from delivery to discharge for neonates
• Experience with phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal, and bubble CPAP required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for a minimum of 1 year before applying
• Submission of social security number and driver’s license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive care of newborns from delivery through discharge, including those with higher needs as found in Level 2
• May join emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)
• All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration; more than 7 days or inclusion of holidays requires facility approval
• Locals within a 60-mile radius may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval
• Pre-employment modules, approximately 4 hours, must be completed before start
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
