Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring cardiac and telemetry skills and a current MA RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting within multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Float among 5 different MedSurg/Tele units including ortho, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology, and cardio-thoracic
• Patient ratios average 5:1 across units with unit sizes between 16 and 32 beds
• Shift is 12-hour nights, with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Most Fridays will be required during the contract
• No specific schedule requests or extended time off allowed
• Uses Meditech EMR; experience is required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care RN experience and cardiac experience required
• Must be able to independently read telemetry strips
• Experience with Meditech IVs required
• Must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts allowed)
• Level 1 Trauma hospital experience required
• Preferred 3-5 years float experience and ability to adapt quickly to different units
• 2 managerial references with recent performance evaluations required, including one from the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing nursing care across various Med/Surg and Telemetry patient populations
• Must adapt quickly to changing environments and units
• Participation in Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia testing is required with up to two attempts
• Teamwork is emphasized due to frequent floating between units
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
