American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring a current NY RN license and proficiency with Epic charting.

Details

• Work in a stepdown/progressive care (PCU) unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with long-term pulmonary needs, ENT surgery, and other surgical stepdown cases
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 13-week contract
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
• Use of Epic EMR required
• Floating within skillset to other units as needed

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license required at time of application
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in stepdown/PCU or telemetry nursing
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry monitoring and managing dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is required
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, non-invasive airway management, and administration of blood products
• Competency in central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include advanced monitoring, cardiac drip management (no titration), and rapid response/code team participation
• Must adhere to hospital's navy blue and white scrub policy
• Pre-start training modules must be completed, with up to 5 hours paid
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Holiday coverage is required based on alternating schedule
