Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring 24 months of recent experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg hospital setting with a focus on post-op surgical care
• Initial training on the 3E unit before transition to 5E unit
• Patient population includes a wide variety of med/surg cases
• Night shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12 hours each, totaling 36 hours per week
• May be required to float to multiple campuses and appropriate units based on skillset
• Epic EMR system is used and previous experience is required
• Participation in holiday rotation is required

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license in hand at the time of application
• Minimum of 24 months recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele experience is required
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Experience with Heparin is required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required
• Skills checklist relevant to Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele must be completed
• Driver’s license is required for consideration
• Prefer experience and skills in telemetry or cardiac care
• First-time travelers accepted if at least one previous travel contract was completed in last 18 months

Additional Information

• RN may be required to assume charge nurse duties or precept new team members as needed
• Must be willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week assignment if needed
• One supervisory reference from within the past 24 months is preferred
• Orientation will take place prior to start and is required
• Open to first-time travelers with recent travel experience
