American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position with strong cardiac, vascular, and thoracic proficiency and active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting with a focus on cardiovascular cases
• Primarily 4x10 day shifts, Monday to Friday, with a rotating day off
• On-call required: up to 2 overnight calls per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call is from Friday end-of-shift through Monday 6:30 AM
• Patient ratio is 1:1 with 16 operating rooms, 12-14 routinely in operation
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with expectation for turnovers under 20 minutes
• Procedures include cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics (using 3 DaVinci robots), gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, transplants, and plastics
• Uses Epic EMR; recent Epic experience required
• Travelers must float across all campuses

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience required
• Strong circulating and operating room experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery required
• Highly preferred experience includes daVinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neuro, orthopedics (trauma focus), gynecology, urology, transplant, plastics, ENT, and vascular cases
• Recent (within 3 years) Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Must have completed a prior travel assignment within the last 12 months; no first-time travelers
• Driver’s license required
• Skills checklist for OR nursing/scrubbing required

Additional Information

• Role includes both circulating and scrubbing in cardiovascular and related surgical cases
• Candidate will join a high-volume, fast-paced team with an average of 35-50 cases daily
• Scrubs are provided
• Holiday coverage is required for part of major winter holidays, with restricted RTO over the holiday season
• One supervisory reference from the past two years is preferred
• Local radius rule: candidates within 50 miles may be subject to a different pay structure
