American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) night shift position requiring a NY RN license and at least one year of experience.

Details

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a hospital setting
• Provides care to adult, acute care patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Handles patients from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Night shift position, working 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Patient assignment ratios between 1:5 and 1:7 for MedSurg cases
• Must be able to float to other units as required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum of one year RN experience in a relevant setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Must have experience with IV therapy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement

Additional Information

• Daily responsibilities include care for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial and central line management, and titrated medicated IV infusions
• Must follow isolation precautions and emergency response procedures
• Multidisciplinary team structure provides support for patient care
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Applicants must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Allowed to wear any navy and white scrub combination
• Holiday coverage as required by unit scheduling
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start
