American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring both scrub and circulate experience, WV or compact RN license, and pediatric OR background.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed pediatric operating room unit with patients ranging from newborn to 17 years
• Day shifts consisting of five 8-hour shifts (6:45-15:15)
• Includes on-call responsibilities involving some weeknights and weekends with self-scheduling and rotating coverage
• No floating required outside of scope to meet facility needs
• Cerner is used for charting, with additional Accudose and SBAR systems
• Local candidates within 75 miles not accepted; candidates between 75–100 miles considered case-by-case

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license (or pending, but must be active to start)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have experience in scrub and circulate roles in the operating room
• BLS certification required
• Experience in pediatric and women’s specialty OR settings required
• Travel experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• Must have not worked in a perm position at specified health system in the past 2 years
• Must provide completed flu shot documentation unless medically exempt during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• No first-time travelers accepted

• Deliver perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients during surgical procedures
• Robotic surgery experience preferred
• Free parking is provided for travelers
• Scrub color is bright blue
• Orientation is every other Thursday, with online modules required prior to start
• Must provide two manager or charge references within the last two years
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System are not eligible for this travel contract
