American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care Unit position requiring cardiac monitoring skills and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in an Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IICU/IMC) setting caring for adult trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology patients
• Patient ratio is 1:3 with admissions from ICUs, direct admits, and rapid response escalations
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30), with a requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Use specialized equipment including Hercules patient repositioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
• Floating may be required to other qualified units and campuses as needed
• Requires charting with EPIC; 1 year of EPIC experience is necessary

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• At least 2 years of RN experience and 1 completed travel assignment required
• Previous experience in IICU/ICU or comparable progressive care settings (PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown) required
• Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with medication titration
• Cardiac monitoring experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and ventilator experience required
• First time travelers require 3 years’ specialty experience and critical care background
• Must provide two professional references for consideration

• Unit serves adult patients requiring frequent monitoring or intervention every 1–2 hours
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management
• Holiday coverage may be required according to facility practice
• Scrub requirements not specified; inquire at assignment
• Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from campus for night shift eligibility
• Time off and special scheduling requests must be submitted up front and are subject to approval
• Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks
