American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) night shift position requiring neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry skills, with an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in a 24-bed adult Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) in a hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), with every other weekend required
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5
• Patient population includes adults requiring neuro stepdown, cardiac telemetry, and complex medical care
• Floating to other units or campuses required as needed, within documented competencies
• Uses Epic EMR; one year Epic experience required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum one year of recent IMC experience required, two or more years preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in neuro stepdown, cardiac telemetry, and care involving IV starts, port access, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills include trach management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BIPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac/vasoactive drips (non-titrating), dysrhythmia interpretation, post-MI care, and post-cardiac cath procedures
• Competency in wound vac usage, isolation precautions, renal failure management, and rapid response participation
• At least one year of recent Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include advanced neuro, cardiac, and complex med-surg patient care and monitoring
• Required to perform clinical tasks for which the nurse is qualified and has documented competencies
• Dress code details not specified; confirm with the facility prior to assignment
• Must provide two references for consideration
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
• Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered eligible
