Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least one year of experience, Epic proficiency, and a current NY RN license.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit with cardiac and stroke patients
• Day and evening ratios are 5:1, with potential to stretch to 6-7:1; night ratios 6-7:1, with potential to stretch to 8-10:1 if staff calls in
• Patient care technician support provided for vital signs, glucose checks, EKGs, and daily living activities
• Phlebotomy team available for peripheral lab draws; RN manages PICC and central lines
• Specialized equipment includes Hoyer lifts
• Use of Epic for charting is required
• Required to work every other weekend
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00-19:00)
• Floating required within scope to Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of application
• Minimum of one year Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
• Ability to work with isolation precautions and oxygen delivery systems
• Locals not accepted (must live at least 75 miles away)

• Responsibilities include management of cardiac and stroke patients, care for PICC and central lines, and participation in Rapid Response Teams
• PCTs provide strong support for daily tasks and documentation
• Pre-start modules required and compensated up to 5 hours
• Scrub color is any combination of navy and white
• Holiday RTO is not permitted; personal RTO requests should not exceed 7 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Return staff must have a minimum one-year gap since previous assignment
