American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Surgical Oncology position requiring stepdown and med/surg skills, an active OK or compact RN license, and ONS/ONCC certification.

• Position is in a hospital Surgical Oncology unit
• Stepdown and med/surg experience are required for this role
• Provides care to adult oncology patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy and related treatments
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week
• No local candidates accepted due to a 50 mile radius rule

Requirements

• Active RN license in Oklahoma or valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required; candidates with fundamentals may be considered
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Experience caring for oncology and chemotherapy patients required
• Strong skills in patient monitoring, IV and blood product administration, and documentation

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing nursing care to a variety of oncology patients with complex medical needs
• Performs medication administration, assists physicians with minor procedures, and manages IVs and blood products
• Works closely with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates nursing tasks appropriately to support staff and makes referrals as needed
• Hospital-based team environment with core responsibilities that require effective communication and collaboration
• Must maintain a supportive and culturally responsive approach with patients and visitors
• Candidates may only extend one time for a total of 26 weeks before a 6 month separation is required for re-eligibility
