Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN with Level 1 Emergency Department charge nurse experience for a high-volume ED position requiring multiple advanced certifications.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Emergency Department with 101 beds
• Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Techs and unit clerks available on days and nights; team supports cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage
• Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Documentation is done using Cerner EMR
• Required to work every other weekend
• No floating outside the ED, must be open to all ED sections

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years' RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Must have prior Level 1 ED charge nurse experience
• Recent experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS before start; ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Ability to coach, give real-time feedback, and work flexibly across all ED areas
• No work history gaps exceeding 90 days over the past year
• Not accepting local candidates; must reside outside a 50-mile radius

• Responsible for patient experience, using AIDET techniques and providing respectful care
• Keep boards and patients updated throughout visits
• Dress code requires navy scrubs
• Must provide SSN and DOB for consideration
• Professional references required based on state (two for Florida and Missouri, one for all others)
