Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN with recent experience caring for post-op cardiac surgery patients in a dedicated CVICU and an active MD or Compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) within a hospital setting
• Unit specializes in recovery of post-op cardiac surgery, cardiac and lung transplantation, ventricular assist devices, and complex cardiac procedures
• 18 bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Assignments available for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Rotating shifts of 7A/7P
• Utilizes advanced equipment such as vent, CRRT, Swan, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive titrations, IABP, and ECMO
• Epic EMR is used; Epic experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Recent experience in a dedicated Open-Heart or Cardiovascular ICU required
• Experience recovering patients directly from the OR after cardiac procedures
• Ability to manage advanced devices and procedures: ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive infusions, IABP, ECMO
• Experience with facilities of 500+ beds required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), critical care certification, trauma course, and Epic experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include the care and monitoring of complex post-cardiac surgery and transplant patients
• Must attend orientation sessions offered the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Dress code and scrub requirements to be provided during onboarding
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except for certain locations with a 60-mile exclusion
• Strong and experienced candidates are preferred
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as scheduled
