Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license and recent acute care ICU experience for a Level 1 Trauma Center assignment.

Details

• Work in multiple ICU settings, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
• Primary patient population includes critical care and trauma patients
• Hospital uses Cerner for EMR
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• Floating mandatory between all ICU units and may include MS units; may be required to float to any Cook facility within 50 miles, with as little as two hours' notice
• No block scheduling allowed

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU acute care experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Locals accepted; local status determined by residing within 75 miles of facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Proof of COVID vaccination required prior to start
• All candidates must complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting assignment

Additional Information

• ICU RNs may float outside primary competency but will function under a team-based model
• First week includes orientation and precepting on day shift
• Team-based support structure provided when floated outside primary area
• Scrub color is navy blue; scrubs are not provided
• Maximum of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO approved for weekends, holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• Returning staff are subject to full recredentialing and orientation
• Strict compliance with documentation deadlines is enforced
