Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Hospice RN with at least one year of med/surg and hospice experience, KS or compact license, and BLS for a post-acute care setting.

Details

• Work in a post-acute care hospice setting
• Day shifts from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, with required call and rotating weekend/holiday on-call coverage
• Patient caseload typically includes the terminally ill with a variety of diagnoses
• Responsible for case management of 8-10 patients weekly, with alternating visit days and biweekly travel supervisory visits of HHA staff
• EMR used is Epic; Epic experience is preferred but not required
• No floating required
• Any professional color scrubs may be worn

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS (AHA) required; National Hospice Certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg and hospice experience required
• Driver’s license must be submitted for consideration
• Must provide 2 professional references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Case management duties include coordinating care and performing biweekly supervisory visits of home health aides
• Unit-specific orientation lasts 1-2 shifts plus 12 hours of general orientation
• On-call responsibilities rotate for weekends and holidays
• Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit Health, CHI, or Dignity within the past year unless PRN through an outside firm
• Candidates must be in-state for the full week of orientation, including any remote modules
