American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position with Trauma Level I and Epic experience required.

Details

• Work in an inpatient orthopedic unit within a hospital setting
• Care for both orthopedic and med/surg patient populations
• Day shifts, 7:00AM to 7:30PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level I trauma center environment
• Use of Epic EMR, prior experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from facility; no local applicants

Additional Information

• Assess and educate orthopedic and med/surg patients each shift on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate care plans with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team
• Delegate and supervise interventions by health care technician staff
• Manage orthopedic traction devices and wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, and urological devices
• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
• Contracted staff cannot remain on assignment at the same facility for more than one year without a six-month break
• No travel partner or paired contract placements accepted
