Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with leadership skills to serve as the OB Nursing Unit Director in an acute care, Level 3 trauma setting, requiring BSN and AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Director position in the OB (Obstetrics) department of an acute care hospital
• Level 3 trauma environment
• Day shifts, 8 hours per shift
• 13-week assignment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Allscripts
• Responsible for the overall coordination, staffing, and daily operations of the OB unit

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum of 2 years’ RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, STABLE, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (not AWHONN)
• Management and leadership experience in an acute care or OB setting strongly preferred
• Experience using Allscripts EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Lead and manage OB unit staff, including staffing, evaluation, conflict resolution, and development
• Oversee quality and safety initiatives and foster process improvement
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and capital planning
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership to achieve strategic and clinical objectives
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high patient, physician, and staff satisfaction
• Orientation consists of 8 hours at the start of the contract
