Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a NC or compact license, Level 2 trauma experience, and advanced certifications for a night shift travel assignment.

Details

• Work in a busy Emergency Department with 101 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 4:1 for medical cases and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Unit includes dedicated techs, cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and support from clerks on all shifts
• Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and GE monitors
• Charting is done on Cerner EMR
• Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with every other weekend required
• No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to float within all ED sections

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the Emergency Department
• Prior experience in a Level 2 trauma center and high-volume (over 100,000 visits/year) ED required
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start; ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Ability to function as part of a team, coach peers, and provide real-time feedback
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• References required: Two for FL and MO licenses, one for all other states

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for a diverse patient population in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
• Unit maintains high standards for patient experience including AIDET, respectful communication, and continuous patient updates
• Navy scrubs are required as the unit uniform
• Must be able to work with tech staff and support personnel as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
