American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Float Pool Intermediate Care position requiring recent Epic experience and strong Telemetry and IMC skills.

Details

• Work in the Float Pool across Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) hospital units
• Care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe CHF, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Floating between Med/Surg Telemetry and IMC units based on clinical experience and staffing needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 2 years of recent Telemetry experience in a hospital setting required
• At least 2 years of prior IMC unit experience in a hospital required
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Recent EPIC experience required
• Flu vaccination and 2-step PPD testing required

Additional Information

• Must be comfortable floating between different units according to hospital policy
• Holiday and weekend work may be required as part of the schedule
• Completion of online specialty modules during orientation and annually is required
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
• Former permanent employees must have at least a 1-year separation before applying as a traveler
• A 90-day break between travel assignments is required after one year of service
