Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment, requiring Epic experience and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

Details

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Day shift schedule (7:00–19:00), 4x12 hour shifts
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4–5
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Uses Epic EMR
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required within the hospital or sister campus as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required; pending license not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or step-down experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass an EKG exam prior to start
• Epic charting experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Return staff must have been absent for at least 1 year to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Pre-start modules must be completed, totaling 4–10 hours
• Maximum of 4 days of requested time off allowed, with approval for only one holiday
• System limits travelers to two contracts in succession before a mandatory 6-month break
• Background or license issues within the past year make candidates ineligible
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
