American Traveler is seeking an LPN with at least 1 year of experience and current NY license for a 14-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry overflow unit supporting ED boarder patients.

Details

• Work in a 14-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry overflow unit within a flex space inside GI Endoscopy
• Patient population includes ED boarders and Medical Surgical/Telemetry patients
• Responsibility for monitoring, documenting, and administering care to both Med/Surg and ED holding patients
• May float to care for Medical Surgical patients based on unit needs
• Uses Epic EMR for all charting and documentation
• Scheduled for 12-hour day shifts (7:00-19:00) with every other weekend required
• Call may be required depending on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active NY LPN license required in hand at time of application (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar clinical setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Proficient in skills including blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, oxygen administration, vital sign monitoring, and isolation precautions
• Strong communication skills using SBAR for ED patients; verbal reporting for other transfers or admissions
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Duties include care of ED boarder patients, blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley management, IM and SQ injections, and oral medication administration
• Candidates must adhere to navy blue or white scrub requirements
• First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
• Minimal requested time off (RTO) is expected for this assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Orientation modules must be completed prior to start
