American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Operating Room RN with at least 1.5 years of experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in the Pediatric Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Handles a range of cases including general surgery, urology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, advanced ENT, and spine
• Must scrub and circulate during procedures
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekends are required as part of the schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to units within skillset is required
• EPIC is used for charting and patient documentation
• Scrubs are provided
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1.5 years of Pediatric OR experience required
• Current BLS certification required; PALS and CNOR preferred
• Must have experience scrubbing and circulating in pediatric OR procedures
• All certifications must be in hand at time of consideration
• Must pass background and license checks with no open or active issues

Additional Information

• Responsible for both circulating and scrubbing roles in pediatric surgeries
• Block scheduling requests require prior approval and must be included at time of booking
• All candidates are required to work at least 2 of 3 major holidays
• Staff may be assigned patient ratios based on acuity when floated
• Returning RWJBH staff must have a one-year break before being eligible for travel assignments
• Compliance and orientation modules, including EPIC training, must be completed pre-start and annually
• Missed shifts must be made up within the same pay period; excessive callouts may result in DNR status
• Clinicians must complete their final contract week to avoid automatic DNR status
