Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with a WA or compact RN license, acute inpatient hospital background, and the flexibility to float between units.

Details

• Work in an acute care hospital case management department
• Covers multiple inpatient units including ICU, PCU, ED, Family Birth, and Adult Medical
• Serves a rural population as the only hospital in a five-county radius
• Average daily census is 300 patients
• Shift is day, 5x8 hours (8:00 to 16:30), with every other weekend required and flexible scheduling to meet facility needs
• Floating is required between like units within scope as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system; previous Epic experience required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, in hand at time of consideration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care hospital case management experience required; no outpatient or behavioral health accepted
• Experience in acute care hospital setting is a hard requirement
• First-time travelers considered if possessing strong acute care experience
• Not accepting local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Pending license not accepted

• Responsibilities include managing care transitions, discharge planning, and coordinating interdisciplinary care for complex inpatient populations
• Must be open to floating and adapting to varied unit needs throughout the hospital
• Team supports a broad scope of inpatient services and patients
• Day shift assignment does not require call coverage
• Limited resources environment due to rural setting
• Must be able to complete facility modules pre-start and annually
• Two supervisory references covering one year within the past three years are required for employment consideration
• Minimal time off is preferred; any requested RTO should be included during application
• No previous permanent employment with the health system within the past three months
• Reliable transportation required for all applicants
