Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in California requiring a CA RN license, call coverage, and the ability to float as needed.

Details

• Work in an Interventional Radiology unit caring for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Day shift schedule is 5x8 hour shifts from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
• Call required every other weekend from Friday 4:30 pm to Monday 8 am
• Floating required to PACU/Recovery and occasionally to IR at a nearby facility
• Average of 3-10 procedures per nurse per day
• Staffing ratio is typically 1:1
• Trauma and standard IR procedures, with no Neuro IR performed
• Utilizes one angiography suite
• Cross-training to PACU is available upon request

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Interventional Radiology nursing experience
• Current AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and TNCC certifications required; TCAR preferred
• Experience with conscious sedation required
• Must reside within 15 minutes of the facility for required call response
• Open to first-time travelers

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include IR procedures and providing sedation or circulating as part of a team
• Occasional floating to Nuclear Medicine or to a nearby IR department may occur
• On-call participation is required every other weekend with a strict 15-minute response time
• Team structure generally places two nurses in each procedure room to share sedation and circulating duties
