American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and minimum two years of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Patient population includes adult Med/Surg and telemetry cases
• Use of telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EMR is required

Requirements

• Active DC RN license (standard or compact) in hand
• Minimum of two years' recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in a US hospital
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification mandated by position
• Graduate from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• BSN highly desired
• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Must live at least 25 miles away from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
• Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document findings
• Demonstrate ability to interpret and address patient needs across the lifespan
• Admission assessments must be completed within established timeframes
• Must submit two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience
• Holiday coverage and floating may be required as directed by the department
• Dress code and scrub color details provided upon assignment
