American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position, requiring at least 2 years of experience and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Details

• Position based in a hospital Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30)
• 13-week contract with required weekend shifts every third weekend
• Cares for 3-5 patients daily in a 6-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Handles post-op cardiac surgery, cardiac re-admissions, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and specialized heart procedures (including TAVR and Inari)
• Involvement with advanced procedures such as inotropic medication management, open chest, ECMO (with perfusionist support), CRRT, OHS/Impella, and IABP
• Floating required to MSICU as needed
• On-call required: 24-32 hours per 8-week rotation

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI
• OCN and TCNN certifications preferred
• Open to first-time travelers with prior CVICU experience

Additional Information

• Required to work holidays as scheduled
• Average census is 3-5 patients per shift
• Must be comfortable managing complex post-op cardiac patients and advanced support devices
• Local travelers accepted at a reduced rate
