American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position caring for adult and geriatric patients, requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Position is on a hospital-based Telemetry unit caring for adults and geriatric patients
• Common patient cases include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with 16 rooms on the unit
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Day shifts with 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00–19:00
• Floating to other units may be required
• Works every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and care required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must provide two supervisory references from manager level or above
• Returning employees or travelers must have been away from all locations of the associated health system for at least one full year to be considered
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off, none during first week of assignment

• Primary duties include caring for adults and geriatrics with high-acuity cardiac conditions and other telemetry-related diagnoses
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned on the same shift and unit
• Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays during assignment; specific rules apply
• Full compliance with onboarding and orientation requirements is mandatory before starting
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Both first-time and experienced travelers will be considered
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
