Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least 2 years of PICU experience and current BCLS and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in a Pediatric ICU caring for patients ages 0-17 years
• Unit handles a range of diagnoses including respiratory, neurosurgery, and heme/onc, except for cardiac surgery and dialysis
• Patient ratios are typically 1:2 based on acuity, occasionally 1:3
• 8-10 bed unit
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 6:45 to 19:15
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float to other units as needed
• Dedicated scheduler will coordinate shift assignments

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU nursing experience required
• Pediatric ICU experience is required for consideration
• BCLS and PALS certifications required
• Unit will accept first-time travelers who meet experience requirements

Additional Information

• Neurology post-operative care is a frequent responsibility
• Preferred skills include neurology experience, chemotherapy administration, IV placement, and lab draws
• Scrubs are not provided; wear pediatric-friendly tops with navy blue pants or all navy blue
• A maximum of 7 days RTO is permitted
• No additional RTO or call-offs allowed after booking; violations may result in contract cancellation
