American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a cardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a DC RN license and 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in a 48-bed cardiac stepdown unit with additional pulmonary care beds
• Primary patient population includes cardiac stepdown and progressive care cases
• Frequent care for patients with CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery needs
• Frequent use of IV drips including Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex
• Option of 3x12 hour night shifts or am/pm rotation
• Must use Cerner EMR system

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown/telemetry experience in a U.S. hospital
• Minimum of 2 years of overall RN experience required
• Certifications required: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• CPI certification required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must reside at least 25 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler

Additional Information

• Float to other units may occur as needed
• Travelers are not required to take the 10 cardiac surgery beds
• Two supervisor or manager references from the last 12 months preferred for consideration
• COVID and flu vaccination compliance required
• Team-oriented unit environment with support staff
• Scrub and dress code details will be provided during onboarding
