American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for a postpartum unit, requiring a current MA RN license and significant leadership experience in postpartum settings.

Details

• Work in a postpartum unit with 14 private rooms and a level 1b Continuing Care nursery
• Responsible for care of mothers and infants from early postpartum stages through discharge
• Schedule consists of 8-hour day shifts, five days per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR used is Epic, and prior Epic experience is preferred
• Must work every other major holiday
• Block scheduling is not permitted

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 3-5 years of Nurse Manager experience in a postpartum unit required
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in a Continuing Care Nursery, Special Care Nursery (SCN), or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) required
• Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications required
• Must have previous acute care experience
• Progressive management experience of at least two years required
• Specialty certification required or must be obtained within one year of appointment
• Experience with Epic EMR highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Charge capability highly preferred
• Two recent charge RN/manager/supervisor references from postpartum required
• Flu vaccine required during season
• Driver’s license address must match demographic information

Additional Information

• Lead and manage the postpartum nursing team providing culturally sensitive couplet care and promoting early family bonding
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a local rate
• No more than five days of requested time off (RTO) considered
• Team works collaboratively to ensure quality care and smooth transitions for mothers and infants
