American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Unit with oncology skills and ONCC or ONS certification at a Michigan facility.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Stepdown Unit for general medical and oncology stepdown patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically ranges from 1:4 to 1:6
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
• Documentation is completed in Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other med surg areas, including AU and ER, for med surg patient care
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling may be considered upon request

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• ONCC or ONS certification (must be in hand)
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs is required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Chemo admissions may decrease assignment ratios
• Support staff provided if nurse-to-patient ratios increase
• Charge RN is not typically assigned to patient care
• Self-scheduling is available for most shifts, except weekends assigned by manager
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
• Time-off requests after offer must be discussed with the manager
