American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown RN for a general medicine/oncology unit, requiring an active MI license and chemotherapy certification.

Details

• Work in a stepdown unit caring for general medicine and oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy via IV and start IVs
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
• Documents in Epic EMR
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6, with support staff available if ratios increase
• Chemo admissions may result in lower patient assignments
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to other med surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for med surg patients
• Block scheduling may be accommodated upon request
• Self-scheduling available for weekday shifts

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• ONCC or ONS chemotherapy certification required and must be in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or stepdown experience
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment

Additional Information

• Patient assignments adjusted to maintain safe ratios with support from additional staff if needed
• Charge RN is generally not included in patient assignment
• Requests for time off after an offer must be discussed with the onsite manager
• Assignment is 13 weeks in length
• Weekend shifts assigned by manager; weekdays available for self-scheduling
• Must discuss any block scheduling requests in advance
