American Traveler is hiring an experienced Stepdown RN for a night shift position caring for general med/oncology stepdown patients in Michigan with ONCC or ONS certification required.

Details

• Position is located in a stepdown unit for general medicine and oncology patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically ranges from 1:4-6
• Night shift schedule working three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating may be required to other med-surg areas, including AU and ER, for med-surg patients
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
• EPIC is used for documentation

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) is required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is required
• ONCC or ONS certification must be in hand
• At least 2 years of recent experience in PCU or stepdown units
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs is required

Additional Information

• Responsible for caring for general medicine and oncology stepdown patients
• Support staff available if ratios flex higher, and charge RN usually not in patient assignment
• Assignment ratios are reduced for chemotherapy admissions
• Block scheduling may be accommodated upon request
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
• All requested time off after the offer must be discussed on site with the manager
• Weekend scheduling assigned by manager; remainder of days through self-scheduling
