American Traveler is hiring an experienced Stepdown RN for a general medicine/oncology stepdown unit in Michigan, requiring ONCC or ONS certification.

Details

• Work in a general medicine/oncology stepdown unit (stepdown/PCU environment)
• Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1:4-6 with charge RN support and adjustments for chemotherapy patient assignments
• Scheduled 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00-19:30), with every other weekend required
• Floating to other medical-surgical areas including AU and ER may be required to care for med-surg patients
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and Epic for documentation
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• ONCC or ONS certification must be in hand for consideration
• Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) certifications required
• At least 2 years of recent stepdown/PCU experience
• Demonstrated expertise in IV administration and chemotherapy via IV

Additional Information

• Must be available for the first two weeks of assignment
• Support staff available if nurse-to-patient ratios increase
• Block scheduling requests may be considered
• Every other weekend coverage is required and weekends are assigned by management
• All RTO requests after offer must be discussed onsite
• Charge RNs typically do not take patient assignments
