American Traveler is seeking an LPN with Illinois licensure and medication administration coursework for a night shift medical-surgical role at a correctional facility.

Details

• Work in a correctional facility on a medical-surgical unit
• Night shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 23:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend coverage required (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory float to any facility or unit within 50 miles as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR system; prior experience is preferred but not required
• Scrub color is navy blue

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Current LPN license in Illinois or ability to obtain license at least two weeks prior to start (license required if applicable)
• Proof of successful completion of pharmacology/medication administration coursework per IDFPR standards (documentation required at interview)
• Current CPR certification
• Preferred: one year recent full-time clinical experience in acute care or ambulatory care facility
• Proof of COVID vaccine required (booster not required, no exceptions)

Additional Information

• Floating is mandatory and may occur within any unit or facility at management's discretion, with up to 2 hours advance notice
• May be required to work outside primary competency area; team-based model used in such cases
• Maximum 5 days of RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours after accepting offer

• 75-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
