American Traveler is seeking an LPN for a medical-surgical unit at a correctional facility, requiring an active IL license and strong floating flexibility.

Details

• Work in a correctional facility medical-surgical unit
• Serve an adult patient population requiring acute care services
• Night shift schedule, five 8-hour shifts per week from 23:00 to 7:30
• Weekend work required every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Charting is done on Cerner EMR; experience preferred but not required
• Mandatory floating within scope across multiple units and facilities, with possible floating outside primary competency using a team-based model
• No call requirement

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• Active IL LPN license required at time of consideration (no pending licensure accepted); license required if applicable
• Current CPR certification required
• Documentation of completed pharmacology and medication administration coursework per Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation standards
• Proof of COVID vaccination required
• One year of recent full-time paid acute care or ambulatory experience preferred

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be approved
• Strict compliance with laboratory and onboarding requirements; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• 75-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
• Travelers may be expected to float to any facility within 50 miles and must be ready for notification up to 2 hours before a shift
